There’s a Ravelry group called Year of Stash Socks, dedicated to using up some of the yarn in our personal collections instead of buying more. The group moderators choose new patterns each month, and everyone posts photos of their finished socks.

One of the choices for January was a worsted-weight sock called St. Brigid’s Carnamoyle. I had some Dream in Color Classy leftover from another project, so I knit a pair. Instead of knitting the original seed stitch pattern over the foot, I carried the cable pattern all the way to the toes. The  colourway is Chinatown Apple.

For February, the moderators have chosen mittens, or a plain stockinette sock. I think I’ll do a plain sock in a bright multicoloured yarn.
